Local shops

There are two local butchers shops, selling excellent home reared  meat, home made sausages and beef burgers. There are two fishmongers who come once a week: on Tuesday and Saturday.

We have a greengrocers selling local fruit and vegetables as well as dairy produce honey herbs and spices olives , cooking oils dried beans and fruit and other things. There are two general grocery shops which sell alcohol and newspapers. We have a large well stocked Newsagents, a Post Office, a Barclays Bank and an HSBC Bank and Cumberland and Halifax Building Societies.

There is a delicatessen, a general bakery selling hot food, a pharmacy and a three gift shops selling  luxury toiletries and souvenir gifts and pictures. There is an excellent soft furnishings shop.

We have a childrens' clothing shop, an ironmongers which sells everything from household soap to coal scuttles and mouse traps. There are two builders merchants, two large carpet sellers, three ladies clothing shops and much more

Markets

• There is a W.I. Market on Friday mornings in the entrance to the Market Hall.
• There is a Mini-Market on Fridays in the Market Hall.
• There is an Outdoor Market in the Market Square on Saturdays.
